What a science mindset means to me:
Applying rigorous critical thinking to break down complex problems into testable questions, and driving evidence-based problem solving and decision making through data
Before joining Shift Health, Yi led a broad portfolio of competitive intelligence projects supporting top pharmaceutical companies. Her work spanned multiple therapeutic areas, including solid tumors, hematologic oncology, immunology, and rare diseases, where she developed deep expertise in primary and secondary competitive intelligence, treatment landscape mapping, clinical trial tracking, and clinical data interpretation. She translated complex clinical and commercial data into clear and actionable insights on competitive dynamics and strategic opportunities, informing decisions making across the treatment landscape, from early-phase asset strategy through lifecycle management.
Yi earned her PhD in Physical Chemistry from the University of British Columbia, where she studied heterogeneous ice nucleation using molecular dynamics simulations alongside experimental laboratory research. She first-authored three peer-reviewed publications and presented her work at national conferences.
