What a science mindset means to me:
Using curiosity and evidence to understand complex problems, and translating science into clear insights that can drive better decisions.
Before joining Shift Health, Shivam built a multidisciplinary background spanning biomedical research, translational innovation, biomedical device commercialization, and competitive intelligence. His experience includes advancing health technologies with clinical and commercial potential, supporting early-stage commercialization strategy, conducting landscape and competitor analyses, and translating complex scientific concepts into clear, actionable insights for diverse stakeholders. He brings a thoughtful and structured approach to problem solving, with a particular interest in connecting scientific innovation to practical applications across the life sciences and healthcare landscape.
Shivam completed his PhD in Biomedical Science at the University of Toronto, where his research focused on chronic wound healing, biomaterials engineering, and organ-on-chip models of disease. He developed advanced in vitro platforms and therapeutic strategies with translational relevance to diabetic wounds, and has shared his work through peer-reviewed publications and presentations at national and international conferences. He was also awarded the Connaught PhDs for Public Impact Fellowship for leading a diabetes-focused community education initiative.
