To design a program and develop a Networks of Centres of Excellence (NCE) proposal in infectious disease, University of Saskatchewan (UofS) needed Shift Health’s expertise in health impact analysis.
Shift Health’s Role
Shift Health conducted secondary research to better understand patterns and drivers of prevalent infectious diseases in marginalized populations in Canada. Based on these findings, we prioritized three infectious diseases for detailed analysis in terms of health, social and economic impact, and assessed the potential for novel products, policies and practices to reduce health care costs and improve wellbeing in marginalized populations.
Enabled by Shift Health’s analysis, UofS can now focus program priorities, engage strategic partners and make the case for investment in solutions for infectious diseases in marginalized populations.
